What are Activity Scores?
What:
Activity Scores in Acclaim Ideas are a measurement of a user's participation and contributions within the platform. They are a form of gamification that encourages involvement and competition amongst team members.
Activity scores are a measure of interaction with a particular idea. It's calculated from the number of views, follows & comments an idea gets.
Your Platform Owner can set a threshold at which an idea is deemed popular enough to assess. If an idea gets a lot of engagement from your users, then it's probably worth investigating further!
Once it reaches the threshold set, an idea's activity bar will go green, and it will be flagged to your Innovation team to suggest they review it.
You can also view an idea's activity score from the Ideaboard by hovering over a particular idea.
Why:
Activity Scores serve two main purposes:
-
Motivation: By creating a sense of competition, users are motivated to be more active and contribute to the innovation process.
-
Assessment: It allows management to measure the level of participation of individuals in the idea generation process, thereby assessing their commitment to innovation.
How:
Activity Scores are automatically calculated by Acclaim Ideas based on user activities, which may include:
-
Submitting new ideas
-
Commenting on ideas
-
Voting on ideas
-
Having an idea progress through stages
Every time a user performs one of these actions, their Activity Score increases.
Best Practices:
Encourage team members to engage actively on the platform to improve their scores.
Use Activity Scores as a basis for rewards and recognition within your team.
Keep an eye on the Activity Scores dashboard to monitor team involvement.
Notes:
While Activity Scores can be a useful measure of participation, it's crucial not to focus solely on the scores. High-quality, actionable ideas should be the primary focus, not just high activity.
