Archiving an Idea

What:

If you wish to remove an idea from the Explore Ideas page or from the default view of a campaign's Workflow, you can archive it. Archived ideas become inactive and are no longer editable. However, you can reactivate an archived idea at any time. You can also set up your Workflow to include archived ideas. Archived ideas are hidden by default.

Why:

Archiving is a useful option when you want to keep your board free from ideas that you are not currently interested in pursuing.

How:

You can archive an idea from the idea's settings tab. Here’s how:

  1. Open the idea you wish to archive.

  2. Select the Settings tab.

  3. Choose Archived (inactive) under the Idea State.

  4. Confirm your changes.

Here’s how to activate an archived idea:

  1. Open the idea you wish to activate. (See Note below for locating an archived idea.)

  2. Select the Settings tab.

  3. Choose In Progress (active) under the Idea State.

  4. Confirm your changes.

Best Practices:

Regularly archive ideas that no longer align with your goals, are no longer relevant, or have been thoroughly explored and found to be unfeasible.

Notes:

You can find all of your ideas, including those archived, in your Workspace. Your Workspace is accessible by clicking your profile icon on the upper right of any screen, and selecting My Workspace.

You can also delete ideas you do not wish to archive from the Settings page. Archiving stores ideas in an unpublished state. Deleting permanently erases an idea, including all its attachments and comments.
